Optimum 2010 - 2018

The super fine Intriga is a small production 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the Maipo Valley.

Intriga was originally founded in 1865 as Linderos by don Alejandro Reyes, who was one of the pioneers of Chilean viticulture, planting only the most noble European varieties. It has been a family business since then with the sole mission of producing fine wines. Miguel Ortíz (1884-1954), Spanish vine grower who arrived from La Rioja in 1915, established the concept of preventive viticulture and winemaking in order to obtain healthy, natural wines of great purity. Today, over 140 years after its establishment, Intriga remains with the same mission and concept: produce premium quality wines with great care of the fruit and the environment. This Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep ruby red colour with purple notes.

Produced from old, low yielding vines, it is given the ultimate thoroughbred handling. The treatment in the winery is first-class, including maturation in the best oak barriques money can buy. It has ripe concentrated fruity flavours, with chocolate and mocha, sweet oak and a great balance - and a long lasting finish. This is a rich, full bodied wine that would pair well with red meat and rich sauces. Intriga is a wine that is not only delicious now, it will undoubtedly benefit from many years of bottle age. It is one of the new generation of exceptional Chilean wines with a genuinely fine pedigree.
